Pneumatic chucks with strips are used for winding on cores whose inner diameter is larger than the shaft they are mounted on.
Expanding chucks with strips are an alternative to expanding shafts. They are often referred to as “through-bore airshafts” or “pneumatic adapters” due to their similar construction. However, instead of steel journals, they are equipped with clamping jaws. Both the body and the clamps are made of aluminum. Pneumatic chucks with strips can be mounted on expanding shafts as well as on standard non-expanding shafts with a circular or square cross-section.
Pneumatic chucks are available in a wide range of sizes designed to work with standard cardboard core diameters.
Their installation is quick and safe thanks to one or two clamps at the ends of the body. The clamp prevents axial movement and enables the transfer of torque from the shaft on which it is mounted.
The length of each pneumatic chucks can be customized (maximum length L=3000mm). The ability to adjust the chuck’s length ensures rigid support of the tube along its entire length.
